Women in Animation
Women in Animation unites the global animation community to advocate for and empower people of underrepresented gender identities across the art, technology, production, and business sectors of the industry. After eleven years, the organization embarked on a comprehensive rebrand to reintroduce itself to a new generation. I served as a consultant and social media community manager throughout this pivotal transition.
As part of the engagement, we conducted an industry-wide audit of brand perception and audience sentiment, then partnered in an iterative review and design process to shape a bold, contemporary new identity. My team led social and media strategy around the launch, managing real-time responses and guiding the conversation across channels as the organization entered its next chapter.
The impact was immediate: positive sentiment increased from 27% to 30%, and mentions across the web and media surged by 163%. Social audiences responded enthusiastically, one commenter even called the rebrand a “new era” for WIA. The organization gained more than 200 new followers, while launch content generated over 65,000 impressions and 2,000 engagements. These results marked a powerful conclusion to a campaign centered on elevating marginalized voices in a competitive and rapidly evolving industry.
